First big steps for Tiny

Three months ago I told you about the first baby gorilla to be born at London Zoo in more than 20 years (Postcode Lottery).

Proud mum Mjukuu cradles her son Tiny.

The infant who still hasn’t been given a proper name yet, is affectionately called Tiny by the zoo keepers. At just over a foot tall the little fella is quickly outgrowing his nickname.

Gorilla keeper, Daniel Simmonds said: “All of Tiny’s keepers were there to see and to photograph his first steps – it was a very special moment for all of us here in Gorilla Kingdom.

“He’s also getting his first teeth through at the moment; however he still has a long way to go before he becomes a twenty-five stone silverback gorilla.”

Here’s Tiny taking his first wobbly steps with Mum, Mjukuu at the zoo.
