The End of My African Adventure – Day 95

Today I have spent the day calling, texting, emailing and frantically seeing people who have made my last three months some of the best of my life. I had no idea what to expect before I left London in March and I could never have predicted what an adventure this was going to be.

I survived a matatu crash; went in and out of prison in a day, saw a seven-foot Cobra at close range; escaped cholera; picked up some Swahili and Lugandan; batted off marriage proposals; caused a scene in Masindi Town  screaming like a banshee; stayed sober for 95 days; made some incredible friends and thoroughly embraced jungle life and the wonderful Sonso chimps of Budongo Forest.

In less than eight hours I will be back on a plane bound for Blighty. I want to say a big thank you to everyone who has sent me messages of encouragement and support during my study, it really does mean a lot. Blogging has kept me sane and made me feel connected to you all but especially to the people I love the most. Thank you for following and I hope you’ve enjoyed the adventure as much as I have.
